Dear Santa…

ChristmasHeader_preview.jpegDear Santa,

Greetings.  Let us get right to the point.
Members of GWA: The Association of Garden Communicators have been very good this year. We hope you’ll take our exemplary behavior into account when reading through the many lists we’ve made of what we want for Christmas.

Katie wants books. Please ignore the piles and shelves of books she already has. Everyone knows you can never have too many books, especially if they relate to gardening.

Linda in Austin, also Texas wants rain, but not too much, and some sunny days, too, but not so many. (She got some snow a few weeks ago. Was that from you, Santa?)

C.L.  would like for Apple to add a “Home and Garden” category for podcasts.  And if you can swing it, a few extra, as in five or six more, hours each day. She said she would even take those hours in a bundle as one extra day per week.

Patrick just wants a good bag of potting soil, but if you could throw in a new tablet device, he wouldn’t turn it down.

Susan wants for all plant-related and gardening-related companies to understand the value and importance of communicationg their message in a way their customers can relate to, accurately with no factual, grammatical, or punctuation errors.

Judy wants good knees and hips so she can garden forever.

Kathy wants for gardening to be seen as the new solace and solution for much of what ails our society.

Anelle just wants people to spell her name right, and if you could, please also throw in some recycled tubgrugs and a new pair of gardening gloves. Oh, and some books by GWA authors. She has a list! I hope it isn’t too long of a list. GWA members have written some wonderful books this past year.

Grace wants a new leather toolbelt that holds her phone, notebook, and secateurs.

Santa, I’ve got a list, too. I wish for more people to join GWA so they can be a part of this community of caring and thoughtful individuals who help each other be the best garden communicators they can be.  I hope you can also make it possible for all the members to come to Chicago next August for the annual conference.

Kind regards to everyone at the North Pole.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Your GWA Blog Team

P.S. Please be careful when you go to the houses of gardeners. It would be good if you could keep your reindeer away from their gardens, and if you have to drop your bag from the roof to the ground, watch out for roses planted below.
