What? You missed the GWA Annual Conference in Chicago and want to figure out how to catch up?

Or maybe you were in Chicago and want to extend the experience of connecting with and learning from fellow GWA members?

Good.  You are in luck because there are several future events you can still register for and attend. Maybe they are as close as a lovely drive through the countryside!

How about attending CareerNext at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, September 15th?  “This one-day powerhouse lineup of garden media superstars is designed for students looking to grow education into stable jobs in the industry, veteran communicators looking to redefine career goals and confident professionals diversifying their toolbox with state-of-the-art media awareness.”

In other words, its for everyone and anyone. All are welcome.

And they aren’t kidding when they say “garden media superstars”. Check out the details for CareerNext on the GWA events page.

But if Des Moines seems too far for you to easily get to, there are also regional meetings scheduled this fall and early winter in Baltimore, Cleveland, Long Island, Annapolis, Asheville, and Janesville, WI.

These smaller regional meetings and CareerNext are great opportunities to meet and connect with fellow garden communicators and learn more about how to extend your own career in the world of gardening and plants.

Don’t see an event close to you? Contact your regional director and help plan one!

  1. Thanks for writing this Bill! During GWA-Chicago, I was surprised by how many members I chatted with who had no concept about the great regional meetings happening near them! Or that anyone can attend any region’s meeting, nit just their own!
